I'm building a new PC with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and I'm looking for recommendations on the best SSD to pair with it. I want something that offers great performance for gaming and general use. Should I go for an NVMe SSD or is a SATA SSD sufficient? What brands and models do you recommend, and what storage capacity should I consider? Thanks.

Saved for later, ty!
im gonna jump in here and agree with craze... those nvme speeds really do change the game. in my experience, i spent way too long sticking with sata because i thought the real-world difference would be negligible, but i was totally wrong. over the years ive tested drives from basically every big name on the market and what i learned is that the controller matters way more than the peak sequential speeds listed on the box. my current setup has a drive from a top-tier manufacturer and the difference in system latency compared to my old budget builds is pretty massive. i used to just look for the cheapest price per gigabyte but after seeing how some of those cheaper controllers stutter under heavy multitasking, i dont do that anymore. definitely worth getting something with reliable nand if you want that 5600x to really shine. sticking to the brands that actually make their own flash has usually served me better for long term endurance tho.
Running a 5600X myself - went with the WD Black SN750 1TB and couldn't be happier. Getting consistent 3500MB/s reads and 3000MB/s writes. No overheating issues even under heavy loads.
