Best modular PSU for easy cable management?

I'm currently planning a new build in a compact mid-tower case, and I’m honestly dreading the cable management phase. In my last build, I used a non-modular unit, and the 'rat's nest' of unused cables at the bottom was a total nightmare for airflow and aesthetics. This time around, I’m looking for the best fully modular PSU that makes the routing process as painless as possible. I've been looking at some of the Corsair RMx series and EVGA SuperNOVA units, but I'm curious about which brands currently offer the most flexible, high-quality cables. Some stock cables are so stiff that they're nearly impossible to bend around tight corners, which is a huge concern for me. I’m aiming for an 850W unit to leave some headroom for a GPU upgrade later. Does anyone have experience with specific models that include flat cables or particularly bendy sleeved ones right out of the box? I'd prefer to avoid buying a separate custom cable kit if I can help it. Which modular power supply would you recommend for someone who wants a clean look without the headache of wrestling with rigid wiring?

Seconding the recommendation above for MSI! Honestly, I was sooo scared of frying something in my first build, but the MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular made it easy. The cables are super bendy and dont feel like they're gonna snap. Plus, its got the newer safety protections for peace of mind. I also looked at the Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular because its known for being super stable and safe. Just take your time and dont force anything!!!

In my experience, you're looking at the right brands but the cable types vary wildly between models. Honestly, I've built dozens of rigs over the last ten years and if you want the easiest routing without buying custom kits, the Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply is a solid choice, though the cables have in-line capacitors that make them a bit stiff near the connectors.

If you want REAL flexibility though, check out the be quiet! Straight Power 12 850W 80 Plus Platinum Fully Modular Power Supply. Their cables are lowkey some of the best stock ones I've used—very bendy and easy to tuck away. Another great option is the EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G7 80 Plus Gold 850W Fully Modular because it's super compact, which gives you more room to shove cables in a tight mid-tower. Basically, go be quiet! if you want the softest wires, or the EVGA G7 if you need extra physical space for the "rat's nest." Good luck with the build, hope it stays clean!! peace

Honestly, if you're worried about stiff cables, you gotta check out the Seasonic Focus GX-850, 850W 80+ Gold, Full-Modular or the Phanteks AMP 850W V2 80+ Gold Fully Modular. They use these super flexible ribbon-style flat cables that are a lifesaver in tight cases. I've used the Phanteks unit in a tiny build recently and the cables are WAY easier to bend than the chunky sleeved ones on most Corsair units, right? Super easy to tuck away tho!

For your situation, I'd seriously look at the MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular or the Cooler Master V850 Gold i Multi 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular. Honestly, I've built dozens of rigs over the years and the cables on that MSI unit are surprisingly flat and bendy, which is a life saver in tight mid-towers.

- The MSI cables are super low-profile so you can stack 'em easily behind the motherboard tray.
- The Cooler Master ones are high-quality but a bit thicker, tho still way more manageable than those stiff Corsair ones ur worried about.

Basically, both save u from buying custom sleeves and actually help with airflow since they aren't bulky. gl with the build!

Honestly, I've spent way too many hours wrestling with cables to save a few bucks on my own builds. I've realy found that you dont always need to drop $150+ on the big names to get a clean layout if you're willing to do some prep work yourself. I've always been more of a DIY guy when it comes to cable management rather than paying for premium "pro" features. Here is what worked for my last budget-friendly build: * I picked up the DeepCool PQ850M 850W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply on sale and the cables were way more manageable than I expected for the price.
* Pre-bending the wires by hand before you even put the PSU in the case is a TOTAL life saver.
* I skipped the fancy combs and just used cheap velcro strips from a hardware store to keep things tight. Tbh, the money I saved on the unit allowed me to get an extra SSD, so it was definitely worth the extra 20 minutes of routing effort lol. Just takes a bit of patience!
