Building a new PC with the Ryzen 9 5900X, which motherboard do you recommend?

@Reply #2 - good point! im quite satisfied with the B550 platform for the 5900X, it works well and i have no complaints regarding stability or vrm temps. it is definitely the more cost-effective route if you dont need the extra bells and whistles of the higher end chipsets. to narrow down the best options for your specific build, i have a few clarifying questions:

  • what is the maximum amount you are willing to spend on the board?
  • do you require multiple pcie 4.0 m.2 slots, or is one enough for your needs? answering these will help us figure out if you actually need to step up to an x570 or if you can save that money for a better gpu or more ram. basically comes down to how much connectivity you actually use day to day...
