I'm in the market for a new gaming monitor to pair with my PS5, and I've been considering LG's offerings. I want to make sure I get the best possible gaming experience.

I'm looking for a monitor with:

  • Low input lag
  • Fast response times
  • HDMI 2.1 support for [email protected]
  • Good HDR performance
  • Vibrant colors and deep blacks

I've been considering models like the LG 27GP950 and 48C1, but I'm open to other suggestions.

What LG gaming monitor would you recommend to get the most out of the PS5's capabilities? I'd appreciate any insights or first-hand experiences you can share.

Thanks in advance!

To add to the point above: those C series panels really are the gold standard for console gaming. In my experience, once you go OLED, its basically impossible to look at a standard IPS screen again without noticing the greyish blacks. Honestly, this whole conversation reminds me of a total nightmare my cousin got into last year when he decided to set up a dedicated gaming nook in his basement. He bought a massive LG C3 65 inch OLED and insisted on building a custom recessed wall mount himself to get that perfectly flush look. I told him to just buy a standard bracket, but he was convinced he could DIY a motorized sliding panel to hide the screen when it wasnt in use. Well, halfway through the build, he accidentally clipped a live wire behind the drywall. Spent three days without power in half the house and ended up having to call an electrician and a contractor to fix the mess he made. By the time he actually got the TV on the wall, he realized he hadnt even measured the clearance for the PS5s cooling vents. The whole thing turned into such a project that he didnt even get to play a single game for like two months... just a massive ordeal.

I think LG C series OLED TVs are also great choice for Sony PS5.

Building on the earlier suggestion, it seems the consensus is firmly in the OLED camp, which I totally agree with after testing many different panels over the years. In my experience, the LG C4 42-inch Class OLED evo is the absolute sweet spot if you want that HDMI 2.1 120Hz bliss without the massive footprint of a 55 or 65 inch screen. I have owned several high-end IPS monitors before finally switching, and the infinite contrast ratio on these OLEDs makes a world of difference for cinematic HDR titles like Horizon or God of War. If you prefer a traditional desk setup though, the LG 27GS95QE-B 27-inch UltraGear OLED is a solid bet. It handles the PS5 features perfectly and the high refresh rate means its basically future-proofed if you ever build a PC too. Tbh, if you can afford the jump to OLED, dont even look back at the older 27GP950. The blacks on those IPS models just look grey once youve seen the real thing. Its a total game changer for immersion...

Also recommend the LG OLED TV. The latest C4 OLED TV is a great choice.
