Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am totally lost with all these specs. My budget is 300 bucks max and I just need something for gaming. I live in the US and wanna buy something soon.

  • 144Hz screen
  • Under 300 dollars
  • Good for basic gaming

Is there a decent one I should grab?

Honestly, 300 bucks is a sweet spot for 144Hz monitors right now so you definitely dont need to worry about being lost. I picked up the ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q 24 inch 144Hz IPS a while back and honestly have zero complaints. It covers all the basics perfectly, has decent colors since its an IPS panel, and the 144Hz refresh rate makes everything look super smooth compared to standard 60Hz screens. If you want something a bit bigger or with slightly faster response times, check out the LG UltraGear 27GN650-B 27 inch 144Hz IPS. LG makes some really solid displays and this one usually dips well under your budget if you catch it on sale. Just keep an eye out on Amazon or Best Buy, prices fluctuate constantly. Dont overthink the technical specs too much, honestly. As long as you get a reputable brand and make sure it has the refresh rate you want, you are gonna be happy with the upgrade. Just make sure you grab a good DisplayPort cable if it doesnt come with one, because sometimes the ones in the box are kinda cheap feeling. Anyway, good luck hunting for a deal, you'll love the jump to high refresh rates.
