I'm planning to upgrade my system with an RTX 4080 SUPER GPU, and my CPU is 7800X3D, which RAM do you recommend?
@Reply #2 - good point! Honestly though, I’ve had a pretty rough time just chasing those high numbers. Last year I went for a generic fast kit and it was basically a nightmare. Random crashes during raids and long boot times really ruined the experience for me. Unfortunately, the 7800X3D can be picky about memory controllers, and the best choice is sometimes the least stable one.
I went through this exact process when I was building my current setup last month. Honestly i spent way too much time looking at charts trying to figure out if the extra cost for low latency was worth it. In the end i just went with a standard 6000mhz kit that was on sale because i wanted to stay under budget for the whole build. What I learned is that the 7800X3D is actually pretty efficient with how it handles memory because of the extra cache. i havent run into any stability issues and the performance feels incredibly smooth even in demanding titles. Tbh unless you are trying to break world records in benchmarks, going with a reliable mid-range option is a solid move... basically saves you some cash that you can put toward a better monitor or more storage.
