Looking for recommendations on the best 100W GaN charger for travel. I'm planning a trip and need a reliable, compact charger for my MacBook Pro and other devices. What are your top picks for GaN chargers that can handle a 100W output? I'm particularly interested in models with multiple ports to charge several devices simultaneously. Any experiences with specific brands or models?

@fityy Also recommended this Charger. Charge is very fast on my MacBook Pro.

The UGREEN Nexode 100W is my top pick. It's slightly cheaper than Anker but just as reliable. Has 3 USB-C ports + 1 USB-A, perfect for charging multiple devices. Been using it across Europe and Asia with no problems. Just remember to bring the right plug adapter!

I've been using the Anker Nano II 100W GaN Charger for almost all my trips, and it’s been fantastic. Its compact size means I can easily pack it in a travel bag, yet it delivers plenty of power to charge my MacBook Pro, iPad, and phone simultaneously. Plus, it stays relatively cool during heavy use, which is a big plus on long travel days.

I use Anker 747's 150W charger with 3 USB-C and 1 USB-A ports. It splits 150W across active C ports in 3-port mode, easily handling 20W charging needs. Works worldwide with 120V-240V power systems.

OMG I am literally in the middle of this exact same struggle right now!! My current travel setup is such a heavy brick and I seriously need to downsize before my next trip lol. Ive been obsessing over technical specs like thermal dissipation and power distribution logic because some of these units get way too hot when you try to pull 100W while charging a phone at the same time!! If you want the real deep dive on the engineering side, honestly just do what I did:

  • Search 100W GaN teardown on YouTube. There is this one creator who literally cuts them open to check the component quality, its amazing!
  • Check the r/UsbCHardware subreddit. Those guys are absolute geniuses when it comes to stuff like voltage ripple and efficiency curves.
  • Just hit up the major tech blogs for their latest roundup articles, they usually have comparison charts. Ngl I spent three hours last night just reading spec sheets... someone stop me haha!
