Hey everyone! I'm finally upgrading my home server to run some AI stuff, and I snagged a Radeon AI PRO R9700. Now I'm totally stuck on picking a PSU. I'm aiming for a reliable build that can handle some serious workload, but I'm also trying not to break the bank (hoping to keep it under $200 if possible).

I've been reading a ton of reviews, but all the wattage and efficiency ratings are making my head spin! I'm a bit worried about overspending on a PSU that's way overkill, but I'm even MORE worried about getting one that's underpowered and fries my system. I'm hoping to order it within the next week so I can start building. What's the absolute best PSU (brand/model) that you guys recommend for a Radeon AI PRO R9700 within that budget? Any advice on wattage or specific features to look for would be amazing! Thanks in advance for the help!

Corsair RM850e 2025 is recommended. https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-RM850e-Modular-Low-Noise-12V-2x6/dp/B0DPR86ZC8?------123456890?7649-20

AMD official recommended the 750W PSU on their page.

Hey! I totally get the PSU paralysis – it's a real thing! Figuring out the right balance of power and price can be a nightmare. Everyone's suggesting high-end stuff, but let's talk about getting the most bang for your buck!

For that Ryzen AI PRO R9 700, I wouldn't go crazy overkill. Unless you're planning on adding, like, two top-end GPUs later, you can probably get away with a solid 650W PSU. I've had fantastic luck with Corsair CX series. They're 80+ Bronze certified, super reliable, and usually around $70-$80! Seriously, I used a CX650M in my last build (Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 2070 Super) for almost 3 years without a single hiccup. And that was pushing it pretty hard with gaming and streaming. I even replaced it recently, not because it failed, but because I upgraded *everything* and wanted to future-proof. The old one is still kicking in my buddy's PC.

Now, here's the crucial bit: since your Ryzen AI PRO R9 700 is still under warranty, make sure the PSU you get has all the necessary connectors. The CX series definitely does! Also, check out Seasonic's FOCUS series. They're a bit pricier (around $90-$110 for a 650W), but they're known for amazing efficiency and quiet operation.

Honestly, I think either the Corsair CX650 or a Seasonic FOCUS 650W will be more than enough for your setup, and you'll save a bunch of cash! Don't fall for the marketing hype. Just make sure you have enough headroom for your components and a little extra for future upgrades. Good luck with the build, and let me know if you have any other questions! Happy to help!

Hey! PSU selection is definitely tricky, especially with a new AI-focused chip. Everyone's tossing around wattage numbers, but let's talk safety first, especially since your Ryzen is probably still under warranty!

I've tried many PSUs over the years, and for peace of mind, I’d suggest the Corsair RM750x (2021). It's 80+ Gold certified, which means decent efficiency, but more importantly, it has excellent over-current and over-voltage protection. You can usually snag one for around $120-$140.

In my experience, skimping on the PSU to save $20-$30 can lead to bigger headaches down the road. A stable and protected power supply will give you way more confidence pushing that Ryzen chip. If you have any other questions, let me know!
