I've been eagerly following the Mac Mini lineup, and I'm curious about the potential release of a Mac Mini with the M4 chip. Has anyone heard any credible rumors or leaks about when we might expect this next iteration? I know the M2 version just came out, but given Apple's rapid chip development, I can't help but wonder about the M4. What kind of performance improvements do you think we'll see? Any speculation on new features or design changes? Also, how do you think it'll be positioned in Apple's product lineup, considering the existing M3 models?

September for new iPhone, October for new MAC, such as Mac Mini M4.

Most likely released in October along with new MacBook PRO.

Jumping in here with a bit of a reality check. Based on the current M4 silicon production, a late 2024 launch is the most logical window for the Mac Mini, though Apple sometimes waits until the spring to avoid stealing focus from the iPhone. If you are looking for that compact power now and dont mind stepping away from macOS, a DIY Small Form Factor build is a solid alternative. You could start with the ASRock DeskMini X600 as your foundation. Pairing it with an AMD Ryzen 7 8700G gives you great performance and the ability to upgrade your RAM and SSD whenever you want, which is obviously a huge limitation on the Mini. Another factual alternative is the Beelink SER8 Mini PC AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS. It has a very similar footprint to the Mac and offers 32GB of RAM for way less than what Apple charges. Its a decent option if you just need a compact workhorse and arent strictly tied to the Apple ecosystem.

According to latest rumors, Mac mini M4 will be much smaller than current M2.
