I've got a budget of about 350-400 quid for the whole tower so every penny counts. I spent a couple hours looking at benchmarks and I keep seeing the Ryzen 5 5600G pop up as the king of budget builds because of the integrated graphics. It seems perfect but then I saw some folks on Reddit saying AM4 is a dead platform and I should go for something like the Ryzen 5 8500G instead since its newer. But then the motherboard and DDR5 ram prices start creeping up and suddenly I'm way over budget. Is the 8000 series actually gonna make a difference for basic office work or am I just wasting money on future proofing a machine that'll just be used for taxes?
