Seriously why is the Walmart website so bad for collaborating? Im trying to get all the stuff for a block party we are hosting here in Austin this Sunday and its driving me crazy. My budget is strictly $150 and I need my roommate to look over the list to make sure I didnt forget the veggie burgers or the specific brand of charcoal he likes but there is literally no share button anywhere. Like, I have 32 items in my cart right now and I just want to send him a link so he can see the total and maybe swap a few things out if he finds a better deal or if I picked the wrong size plates.
My logic was that I could just use the list feature, so I started making a public list called BBQ Supplies but it takes like three extra clicks for every single item and I already have everything in the cart anyway. Its such a waste of time to go back and re-add everything. Its so frustrating that they dont just have a send cart button like some other sites do. Then I looked into those third party extensions like Share-a-Cart or whatever they are called. I was thinking that might be the move but then I got worried about giving some random app access to my account info or my payment stuff even though it says it doesnt do that. I dont want to get hacked just for some hot dog buns and soda.
My other option is just taking a massive scrolling screenshot and texting it to him but then he cant even click the items to see the nutrition facts or check if its actually in stock at the store down the street on Parmer Lane. So I am basically torn between:
- Spending an hour making a manual list
- Risking it with a random Chrome extension
- Just sending messy screenshots and hope he gets it
Neither feels right and I am running out of time because I need to get this ordered by tonight so it gets here by Friday afternoon. Does anyone know if there is a hidden way to just generate a cart link without being a tech genius or is this just how life is now...

Ugh, yeah, the Walmart site is honestly such a headache for this kind of thing. I went through the same nightmare last summer trying to organize a massive family reunion and it was way more stressful than it needed to be. It is wild that a multi-billion dollar company makes it so hard to just send a grocery list to someone without jumping through ten hoops. Unfortunately, their native list feature is just not as good as expected and half the time it doesnt even sync the prices correctly. I tried the screenshot route first but it was a total mess... my cousin ended up buying the wrong size of everything because the image was too blurry. I eventually started looking for better alternatives because I was worried about privacy and account security too. Honestly, Easy Cart Share makes it so much faster to transfer a cart between different accounts without having to give away all your sensitive info. It has been my go-to lately because the manual way just takes way too much time when you are on a deadline. Before you try to force the list feature again, are you guys planning to use the pickup option or just straight delivery? Also, does your roommate actually need to be able to edit the cart on his end, or just see the total to make sure you stayed under that 150 limit? Its a tight budget for a whole block party so I get why you are stressed about it.

Just use a browser extension! It is way better for tracking that 150 budget too. TL;DR: Extensions are safe since they dont see your credit card info, just the items. Its a total game changer for planning big parties! Ive been using Easy Cart Share to send my grocery lists to my roommate, and it's honestly a lifesaver.
