Best wireless keyboard with long battery life?

I'm tired of constantly recharging my keyboard and looking for a wireless option with exceptional battery life. Ideally something that can last months on a single charge or set of batteries. I use my keyboard daily for work and don't want the hassle of frequent power concerns. TIA.

Regarding what #8 said about "Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to..."

  • I completely agree with that shift. I'm very satisfied with my current setup now that I've focused more on the technical specs of the controller rather than just buying the biggest battery. It really comes down to how efficiently the board handles idle states. I learned a few things about compatibility during the process:
  • some 2.4ghz receivers have serious interference issues with usb 3.0 ports
  • low-energy bluetooth protocols dont always play nice with older operating systems
  • certain power-saving modes can cause a slight delay when you first start typing Honestly it works well and I have no complaints since I tweaked the settings. Getting the hardware to actually talk to the pc efficiently was the real challenge tho.

I spent way too much time testing custom builds before realizing that firmware makes the biggest difference. About a year ago I built a custom board using a Nice Nano controller specifically for the ZMK firmware. Its designed to be incredibly lean on power. Even with a tiny battery, I was getting months of use because I skipped the RGB lighting. If you arent into soldering, just grab a board that takes AA batteries instead of built-in lithium ones. Built-in lithium packs eventually lose their capacity and you cant easily swap them. I've been running a Logitech G613 with Eneloop rechargeables for ages. The batteries honestly last over a year for my 9-to-5 work. TL;DR: Look for ZMK firmware for custom builds or stick to AA-powered retail boards to avoid lithium battery degradation.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

Consider the Logitech MK235, known for its long battery life, or the Pop Icon Keys, which offers both comfort and extended battery performance. Both are great for daily work!
