Im totally new to this so sorry if this is a dumb question. Im trying to build a basic landing page for my dog walking business in Chicago but have zero coding skills. I keep hearing about AI tools for websites but I dont know which ones actually write the code. Should I be using Cursor or something else for a beginner?
To add to the point above: since you are just starting out, dont stress about complex IDEs yet. Just keep it simple.
Just catching up on this thread. Regarding what #1 said about Cursor being overkill, I kinda disagree if you actually want to learn how the site functions. Sure, it has a learning curve, but if you pair it with OpenAI GPT-4o 128k context window, you get real-time file structure guidance that basic chatbots miss. If you want a simpler route, be careful with just copy-pasting code because you might end up with security holes or broken layouts. I would suggest checking out V0 by Vercel generative AI UI instead. It handles the CSS and React components way better than standard chat interfaces for landing pages. Just make sure to double check the responsiveness on mobile since auto-generated code sometimes ignores smaller screen breakpoints. One tip: keep your prompt super specific. Mention your Chicago location and the specific services, otherwise the AI creates generic fluff. If you really want to avoid coding, you might want to consider Webflow Standard CMS plan, which has some new AI-assisted layouts that are way more stable for beginners than raw code generated by an LLM. Dont worry about the learning curve too much, just build it piece by piece.
Honestly, Cursor AI IDE is overkill for a beginner. It has a steep learning curve. Try Claude 3.5 Sonnet instead, it writes much cleaner code for simple landing pages.
