So Ive been doing the whole clearance flipping thing for like five years now and I thought I had my system down to a science. Usually I just camp out on BrickSeek and wait for those 70% off tags to hit but man something has changed lately. I went to three different Walmarts around the Houston area this morning because the site said they had those Lego Star Wars sets for $11 instead of $50 and every single time the employees just looked at me like I had three heads. One guy actually told me they dont even sync with those third party sites anymore??
Im trying to stock up for a huge neighborhood toy drive we are doing in three weeks and my budget is capped at exactly $500 so I really need to find those deep hidden clearance discounts to make the money stretch. I used to be able to see the local inventory counts pretty accurately but now it feels like Im just chasing ghosts and driving around burning gas for nothing. I even tried using the Walmart app own scanner while in the store but half the time the price on the screen doesnt match what rings up at the register or it shows out of stock when there is a whole pallet sitting right there in front of me lol its so frustrating when you know the deals are there but you cant find them.
I know about the basic stuff like Honey or CamelCamelCamel for online prices but those are basically useless for the in-store hidden clearance gems that never make it to the website. Im looking for something that actually pings the local store inventory systems or maybe some kind of discord bot that hasn't been nerfed yet. Is anyone still using BrickSeek premium or is that a total waste of money now with the new API restrictions they put in place? I heard some people are using some web-based scrapers or maybe specific telegram groups but I cant find a solid lead on which ones actually work for real-time local stock anymore. What are you guys using these days to find the real deals before the professional resellers sweep the whole aisle? I am getting a bit desperate here because the clock is ticking on my donation deadline...

I remember when BrickSeek was king, but things change. I switched tactics last summer and honestly, Im pretty satisfied with the official Walmart app now. It works well if you toggle it to in-store mode. Pro tip: scan the shelf label barcode instead of the item itself. It pulls the local price way more accurately than scanning the box when they are doing rollbacks.

It basically makes the inventory data lag by 12 to 24 hours, which is why you are seeing ghost stock. I would suggest looking into some private Discord groups that use custom scrapers, but honestly, even those are hit or miss. Make sure to double-check the Local Store setting on any web tool you use, since the national feed is useless for in-store clearance. You might want to consider checking the SKU on a few different platforms just to verify the price isnt a glitch. Its a technical headache, tbh. Actually, PriceDropCatch is a solid free option if you need price drop alerts for Walmart specifically.
