Looking to upgrade to an RX 9060 XT and need PSU recommendations. Currently have a 750W Bronze unit that's about 3 years old. Will this be enough or should I upgrade? I've heard AMD's newer cards can be pretty power hungry, especially the XT variants. What wattage would you suggest for a single card setup? Also curious about modular vs non-modular - worth the extra cost? Running a Ryzen 7 system if that matters. Any specific brands to avoid or prioritize? Appreciate the help!
For the RX 9060 XT, you're looking at 150W for the 8GB model and 160W for the 16GB version. ASUS recommends a 550W PSU for their model, and Guru3D suggests 550-600W for an average system. I'd personally go with a quality 550W unit from Corsair, Seasonic, or EVGA - that gives you plenty of headroom and room for future upgrades.
Jumping in here because i have seen too many people waste cash on overkill units over the years. Honestly, your 750W Bronze is likely totally fine for an RX 9060 XT, but i gotta ask which Ryzen 7 you are using? Some of the newer ones pull a bit more juice than the older ones, so that helps to know. In my experience, here is the breakdown of why you are probably safe:
600w psu is OK.
