Coming back to this... ngl I have to disagree a bit with everyone saying 32GB is enough. If you are dropping cash on a 5080, you might want to consider 64GB instead. I learned the hard way when I cheaped out on a build last year and had to swap kits six months later because my productivity stuff and flight sims were eating through memory like crazy. Be careful with the specific brand though, as EXPO stability can be a bit of a coin toss depending on your board.

For a 9800X3D and RTX 5080, aim for 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz CL30 for a good balance of performance and compatibility.

DDR5-6000 CL30 or DDR5-6400 CL32 would be optimal for the 9800X3D. The sweet spot is right around 6000-6400MHz since the memory controller starts struggling with stability at higher speeds. 32GB (2x16GB) is plenty for gaming and typical workloads.
