What RAM would you recommend for a system using the Radeon RX 9070? I'm looking for optimal performance, especially for gaming at 1440p and 4K. Should I prioritize speed, capacity, or both?

Mostly, ddr5 6000 cl30 is the best choice.

Had a minute to think about this and honestly, you might want to consider going for a bit of overkill if you are pushing 4K. That 9070 is gonna move a ton of data and you dont want the memory holding it back. I would suggest being careful with those crazy high speed kits tho... I have seen them cause way more headaches than they are worth with system stability.

  • Aim for G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 because the EXPO profiles are usually rock solid.
  • Make sure to check your cpu cooler clearance since some heatspreaders are huge and might hit your fans.
  • Try to stick with a 2-stick kit instead of filling all 4 slots to keep the memory controller happy. Be sure to check your motherboard QVL list before pulling the trigger. Ngl, nothing kills the mood like a fresh build that wont boot because the RAM is being picky... trust me, I have definitely learned that lesson the hard way.

For a Radeon RX 9070, I'd recommend 32GB of DDR5 RAM at minimum, preferably running at 6000MHz or higher with good timings. The RX 9070 (based on RDNA 4 architecture) benefits from faster memory for optimal performance.
