what laptop actually handles professional 3D rendering without dying because my current XPS is literally melting?
I have a huge project due in ten days and Blender keeps crashing im actually so over it. I have 3k to spend and need something in NYC today. What should I buy?
> honestly, xps thermals are kinda notorious for overheating Regarding what was said about the XPS... man, I feel that pain. I had the same issue last year and it was honestly such a letdown. I thought I was buying a pro machine but it just turned into an expensive paperweight whenever I tried to render anything in Cycles. It's so frustrating when the hardware can't keep up with the software you actually need for work. I eventually swapped to the MSI Raider GE78 HX i9-14900HX RTX 4080 32GB RAM and while it's kind of an ugly beast compared to the XPS, it just works. Basically, you gotta look at the TGP wattage. Most thin and light laptops throttle the GPU power so they dont explode, which is why your renders are failing. If you go to B&H today, just tell them you need a high-wattage 4080 and dont worry about how thick the laptop is. The extra fans are what's gonna save your project. Good luck with the deadline, you got this!
honestly, xps thermals are kinda notorious for overheating during heavy 3d renders. if you want to finish this without more crashes, head to bh photo in midtown. you need something with massive vents to stay safe.
