I eventually swapped to the MSI Raider GE78 HX i9-14900HX RTX 4080 32GB RAM and while it's kind of an ugly beast compared to the XPS, it just works. Basically, you gotta look at the TGP wattage. Most thin and light laptops throttle the GPU power so they dont explode, which is why your renders are failing. If you go to B&H today, just tell them you need a high-wattage 4080 and dont worry about how thick the laptop is. The extra fans are what's gonna save your project.
