Are there websites that allow wishlists from multiple different retailers?

Ive handled separate registries for years but for my sister's baby shower in June we need one spot for boutique stuff and Amazon. My logic was a browser extension would work but the metadata scraping is so hit or miss on smaller sites. I thought there'd be a standard API for this by now. Any suggestions?

You should definitely check out Babylist! It is fantastic for consolidating boutique stores and Amazon into one registry. I love how its interface streamlines the coordination process.

Metadata scraping is notoriously flaky because smaller boutique shops rarely use standardized schema tags. It is a common frustration for anyone trying to sync different inventory systems. When the scraper fails, the most efficient workaround is using a platform that allows for manual field entry. You want a system where you can paste the URL and then manually upload an image or type in the price if the automation misses the metadata. For a smooth experience with a mix of Amazon and boutiques, keep these tips in mind:

  • Prioritize a tool that provides a browser bookmarklet. They often bypass some of the script-blocking issues that standard extensions face on smaller sites.
  • Ensure the platform does not force guests to create an account to view or claim items. This is a major hurdle for less tech-savvy family members.
  • Look for a purchased elsewhere toggle. This is vital for boutique items where guests might find the product in a local physical store instead of through the link. For general household organization or planning for the holidays, Christmas Wishlist Creator is a reliable choice for consolidating various retailers into one place. It handles the variety well without being overly complex. Just remember to check the shipping policies of the boutique sites before adding items. Sometimes the shipping cost is high enough to discourage guests, so it is practical to provide a few varied options at different price points to accommodate everyones budget.

Yo, saw this earlier but just getting back to it now. You gotta be really careful with these multi-store scrapers because they break way more often than people realize. It is basically a data integrity nightmare since boutiques change their site layouts all the time without warning. If the metadata fails, your guests might end up seeing a 404 or the wrong item entirely. I would suggest watching out for a few specific things:

  • Avoid extensions that dont allow manual price overrides when the scraper fails
  • Make sure the platform actually checks for stock status regularly so you arent asking for sold-out stuff
  • Be wary of how much tracking data the browser extension is sucking up while you shop Honestly, you want something that treats the URL as a backup rather than the only source of truth. I found Share Product Wishlist last year and it actually works with almost any store, which is nice.
