What is the best PSU for an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X paired with an RTX 4070 Ti Super? I'm looking for recommendations on wattage, efficiency ratings, and any specific models that would be ideal for this setup.

Regarding what #1 said about A 750W PSU like Corsair RM750e is OK.

  • I actually used that exact model in my brothers build last month and it works fine, but I personally prefer a bit more headroom. When I was putting together my own 4070 Ti Super rig, I went with the MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 850W because it has the native 12VHPWR cable. Honestly, skipping the adapter mess is a huge plus for cable management. My old build used to have random black screens because the power spikes were hitting the limit of my 600W unit, so 750W is definitely the floor for this kind of hardware. I also looked at the Seasonic Focus GX-850 ATX 3.0 which is a legendary series. In my experience, these newer cards can be spikey with power draw even if the average wattage seems low. Getting an 850W unit usually keeps the fan in silent mode longer too, which is nice if you hate noise. Just make sure whatever you pick is ATX 3.0 ready so you dont have to mess with those clunky triple-adapter cables.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I'm honestly so disappointed with how much you have to spend just to get something reliable these days. You'd think for the price of a decent 750W or 850W unit, they'd at least last more than a few years without developing some annoying fan rattle. Everything feels so cheaply made now compared to older hardware, and the pricing is just insane for those of us trying to keep costs down. It actually reminds me of this old espresso machine I bought last year to save money on cafe trips. It was supposed to be this great enthusiast-level gear but it just leaked water everywhere and the steam wand never worked right. I spent more time mopping my kitchen floor than actually drinking coffee. Eventually I just gave up and started drinking instant which is honestly pretty gross but at least my floor is dry now. Anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.
