Honestly so fed up with the old Samsung TV I've been using in my room. I finally got my hands on an Xbox Series X a few months back and I feel like I'm totally wasting the potential of the thing. The input lag is just unbearable at this point and it's driving me crazy. I try to play Halo or Forza and it feels like I'm driving through actual mud half the time plus the ghosting is so bad it makes my eyes hurt after like twenty minutes. I was playing with my buddies last night and I kept missing shots because the screen literally couldnt keep up with the fast motion and I just about threw my controller across the room lol.

But I am actually so excited because I finally saved up about 250 bucks maybe 300 if I really push it and skip a few takeout meals this week and I am ready to finally see what this console can really do. I'm looking for something that can actually handle the 120fps stuff because whats the point of having a Series X if I'm stuck at 60hz on a screen from like 2018? I know I probably wont get 4K at this price range which is fine I guess but I really want something with VRR and maybe 1440p if that's even possible under 300 dollars right now?

I've been scrolling through some AOC and Gigabyte models on Amazon but there are seriously a million options and the reviews are all over the place like one person says its the best thing ever and the next person says the backlight bleed is a total nightmare. Im in the US so I can order from pretty much anywhere like Newegg or Best Buy but I'd love to have it by next Friday because I have a long weekend coming up and I just want to rot in front of a smooth screen for once. Does anyone have a specific recommendation for something that wont break the bank but also wont make me regret my life choices when I turn it on? Just want something that actually supports the Xbox features without a massive headache...

Honestly, the Gigabyte M27Q 27-inch 1440p 170Hz IPS is a solid bet for under 300 bucks and handles the Xbox VRR stuff without a hitch. Another decent one is the MSI G274QPF-QD 27-inch 1440p 170Hz. Quick tip: make sure you use the high-speed HDMI cable that came with the console or 1440p at 120Hz wont even show up as an option in your settings.

Making the jump from a standard TV to a dedicated monitor is the best upgrade you can do for a Series X. Over the years, I have cycled through dozens of panels, and I remember exactly how it felt when I first saw 120fps... it basically ruined 60Hz for me forever. In my experience, if you want that 1440p sweet spot without emptying your bank account, you really cant go wrong with Gigabyte. I have used several of their displays lately and they just nail the response times better than anyone else in that budget bracket right now. Just look for any of their 27-inch IPS panels and you will be golden. The motion clarity is gonna blow your mind compared to that old TV, especially in Halo. You wont believe how much better your aim gets when the screen actually updates as fast as you move.
