so im finally upgrading from my crusty old 1080p 60hz panel because honestly i cant stand looking at it anymore and my eyes are starting to hurt lol. i mostly play competitive stuff like cs2 and valorant so motion clarity is big but i also want that 1440p crispness for when i actually do work.

ive been looking at a few options:

  • gigabyte m27q
  • lg 27gp850-b
  • acer nitro xv272u

the gigabyte seems like a steal but i keep hearing about the subpixel layout being weird on some models? then there is the lg which is a bit more expensive but seems safer for fast motion. my budget is strictly under $300 and i need to order it like... now so it gets here before my tournament next weekend. is the lg worth the extra cash or should i just grab the gigabyte and call it a day?

I dealt with a BGR subpixel layout once and the text fringing was a total nightmare for work tasks. I would suggest you be very careful with older stock of the Gigabyte M27Q 27-inch 1440p 170Hz.

  • Make sure it is Revision 2.0 for standard RGB
  • Pick the LG 27GP850-B 27-inch 1440p 165Hz for better motion handling The LG is definitely more reliable for competitive play tho.

^ This. Also, in my experience the Acer Nitro XV272U Vbmiiprx 170Hz is the superior choice for value.

  • Better contrast than LG
  • Cheaper than both Dont overpay for branding.
