Hey everyone, I'm building a new PC with a GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, and an RTX 4070 SUPER GPU. What's the best RAM kit for this setup? Looking for optimal performance and compatibility. Any recommendations on capacity, speed, and timings? Thanks in advance for your advice!

I totally get what green_random9580 was saying about stability concerns... been there. When I was putting together my B650 Aorus build a while back, I spent way too much time worrying about whether it would actually post or if I would be stuck troubleshooting for days. I ended up looking at kits that arent quite as flashy as the Trident stuff but are known for being rock solid. Basically narrowed it down to TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert Overclocking 10L DDR5 6000MHz CL30 and Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 6000MT/s CL30. The Teamgroup kit is the ultimate no-nonsense choice imo. It has a super clean look, no RGB to mess with, and fits under huge air coolers without any clearance drama. The Kingston is also a solid pick because their compatibility with Gigabyte boards is usually top notch. I went with the T-Create in the end because it was a bit cheaper and honestly, zero regrets. I just enabled the EXPO profile in the BIOS and its been perfect. No crashes, no weird boot times... it just works. If you want peace of mind, sticking to these lower-profile kits that focus on reliability over lights is the way to go.

DDR5 6000 CL30.

Fast 6000MHz CL30 RAM is ideal, though RAM speed matters less with X3D chips since they have larger cache that reduces RAM dependency. Reliable brands include G.Skill (Flare X5, Trident Z/Z5), Corsair Vengeance, and TEAMGROUP (T-Create, T-Force).

I am currently facing the exact same dilemma with my own build and it has been a disappointing experience so far. Stability is my primary concern and unfortunately it has not been as straightforward as I had hoped... finding a kit that is truly reliable on this platform seems difficult and I have had issues with random crashes.

  • Consult the official Gigabyte support page to review the QVL list for this motherboard
  • Search YouTube for technical reviews regarding Ryzen 7000 memory scaling
  • Review recent Reddit threads to see which BIOS versions are currently the most stable There is a very detailed video covering this exact topic from one of the major tech channels... if you search for b650 ram guide on youtube it should be the first result.

Re: "I am currently facing the exact same dilemma..."

  • I felt that same stress when I started my build. I was so worried about things not being stable, so I played it very safe with my choice. I ended up picking a different brand than the usual flashy ones because I just wanted something reliable. Here is my experience:
  • I plugged in the kit I got and it worked on the first try
  • No weird crashes or anything like that since I started using it
  • It runs at the rated speed without me having to fiddle with settings in the BIOS Im very satisfied with the Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 32GB 6000MT/s CL30 kit. I looked at a few different brands and this one just seemed like the right balance for my needs. It might not be the most famous option, but it works well for me and I havent had any complaints. Definitely look into it if you're worried about compatibility... let me know if you want to know more about the setup.

G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5 6000 CL30 is recommended. Also currently the best selling RAM.
