I'm considering getting a monitor for my Nintendo Switch 2. What specifications should I look for to ensure the best gaming experience? Should I prioritize refresh rate, resolution, or input lag? Any specific models you recommend that work well with the Switch 2? Thanks!

I use the ASUS ZenScreen 16” OLED USB-C portable monitor (MQ16AHE). Love it. Compact and the screen is great.

^ This. Also, low input lag is basically the dealbreaker for Nintendo stuff. But honestly, im gonna disagree a bit on the 4K suggestion. I spent years chasing the highest specs and my wallet really felt it... eventually I realized that for a Nintendo console, a decent 1440p screen works well enough and looks amazing. I've been using a mid-range panel for a while now and I have no complaints at all. It handles everything I throw at it and im super satisfied with the performance without having to spend a fortune. I really think most people would be better off saving that cash for the games themselves instead of overpaying for pixels they might not even notice while they're actually playing.

Honestly, since we still don't have every single spec confirmed for the Switch 2, I'd suggest being a bit cautious and not overspending on crazy high-end tech right away. Focus on value and reliability. Basically, just get a solid 4K IPS panel from a brand like LG or Dell—you really can't go wrong there for consistent color and decent viewing angles. I mean, for a Nintendo console, you should prioritize low input lag over everything else. You don't need to chase 240Hz refresh rates because let’s be real, the console probably won’t even touch that. A good 60Hz or 120Hz monitor is plenty and way more budget-friendly. Just stick with the big name brands like Samsung or LG so you know the warranty and build quality are actually there. It’s way better to get a dependable mid-range screen than to blow your whole budget on features that might not even be supported, you know?
