Ngl I spent way too much money on my first setup before I realized you dont always need the top tier brands. Tbh, for a Windows 11 laptop, you can usually find some solid mid-range stuff that does the exact same thing as the $200+ docks. Heres basically what I found during my own search: • I ended up using a UGREEN Revodok Pro 210 USB C Hub for a while. It’s pretty budget friendly and handled my dual monitors just fine, though I think you gotta check if your port supports MST for the dual display part.
• Honestly, another great route is looking for used enterprise docks. I once picked up a Dell WD19 130W Business Docking Station for cheap on an auction site. They are built for office use so they tend to be super reliable even if they arent the newest models.
• I also realized that sometimes just getting a powered USB hub to plug into a cheaper dock helps if youre running multiple external hard drives, since it takes the strain off the laptops power delivery. Afaik, as long as your laptop has a full-feature USB-C port, these mid-range options work great without costing a fortune.
Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
