I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to pair with an RTX 5070 for gaming and content creation. What are the best options available that won't bottleneck the GPU? I prefer Intel but am open to AMD suggestions. My budget is around $300-$400. Any recommendations on specific models or configurations would be greatly appreciated!

Ok so since you mentioned content creation specifically you really should look at the Intel side of things because of QuickSync which is basically a lifesaver for video editing. Honestly the Intel Core i7-14700K is probably your best bet in that $300-$400 range because those extra e-cores actually do something when youre rendering video or multitasking compared to the pure gaming chips. AMD is definitely great for raw gaming performance but from a market research perspective Intel usually maintains better compatibility for productivity suites like Adobe even if they run a bit HOTTER than the Ryzen chips. I am a little bit torn on whether you should jump to the newer Intel Core Ultra 7 265K though because the motherboard prices for the new Z890 socket are kind of insane right now so sticking with the 14th gen might actually be the SMARTER move to stay under budget while still getting plenty of power for an RTX 5070 tbh
