I have been staring at the Walmart website for so many hours today my eyes are literally blurry. I'm trying to scale up this reselling thing I started last month—mostly kitchen appliances and some electronics—but doing it manually is a total nightmare. I'm based in Fresno and I've noticed the prices fluctuate like crazy between the online store and the physical locations around here. I need to be able to track like 50 different items at once because my current budget is only about $400 for new stock and I cant afford to waste a single cent on something that is gonna drop in price the day after I buy it. I really need something automated because I have a day job and I cant be checking my phone every ten minutes under my desk.
I did some digging and saw people talking about BrickSeek but then I read some pretty bad reviews from this year saying their data is super delayed and half the time the 'in stock' alerts are just wrong which makes it useless for me. Then I looked at something called PriceBlink but that seems more like a casual coupon thing and not really for serious tracking? I also saw some stuff about Octoparse but it looks way too complicated for me since I dont know anything about coding and I'm worried about Walmart blocking my IP address if I try to run some DIY scraper tool. I'm really anxious about the upcoming holiday rush because I need to have my system dialed in by next week or I'm gonna miss out on the best margins.
Does anyone know a tool that is actually reliable for Walmart specifically that isnt going to cost me like $200 a month? I can maybe swing $35 or $40 if it actually works. I just want something that pings me the second a price changes so I can move fast. What are the pros using that wont break the bank or require a computer science degree...
> I need to be able to track like 50 different items at once... I just want something that pings me the second a price changes so I can move fast. Walmart is notoriously difficult to scrape because they use heavy anti-bot stuff like Akamai. If you try a DIY tool you will probably get your home IP flagged pretty fast, so be careful there. I think there is a middle ground tho... someone told me PriceDropCatch is decent and IIRC it handles the proxy rotation for you so you dont have to worry about the technical side. Not 100% sure if their entry tier covers 50 items but the price is definitely in your budget. You might want to consider starting with just a few items first to see if the refresh rate is fast enough. Just make sure to check if they offer real-time push alerts. Lmk if you run into issues with the setup and I can help you look at the specs... tracking 50 might be tricky but it is doable if the tool is optimized.
