honestly im so done with this knockoff keyboard i got off amazon last month it keeps dropping the connection literally every five minutes while im trying to write my reports and i just lost half a paragraph because it lagged so hard. im a freelance copywriter here in london and i have a massive project due in like 48 hours and i cant keep fighting with this thing. i need a portable bluetooth keyboard for my ipad that actually works for heavy daily typing and wont die on me. my budget is maybe 80 pounds max but i just need it to be reliable and easy to toss in my bag. what are you guys using that doesnt suck?

Building on the earlier suggestion, you definitely gotta be careful with the cheap Bluetooth chips in those generic boards. They usually use older stacks that just dont play nice with <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= iPadOS+handoffs&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPadOS handoffs, which is why youre getting that lag. Since you have a deadline, I would suggest going with a brand that actually optimizes their firmware for Apple stuff so it doesnt drop out.

  • Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard is basically the gold standard. It uses 2 AAA batteries that last forever, so you wont have it die mid-report.
  • If you want something super slim, maybe look at Logitech Keys-To-Go Ultra-Portable Wireless Keyboard but be careful because the keys have almost no travel. It feels kinda weird to type on for hours, tbh.
  • Check out RTINGS for their latency tests if you want the technical data. It really shows why the cheap ones drop out compared to name brands. Basically, make sure whatever you get has multi-device pairing. Being able to swap between your <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= iPad+and+phone+is+a+lifes&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPad and phone is a lifesaver when you get texts mid-deadline. Good luck with the project, hope you hit that 48 hour mark...

Regarding what #1 said about "I think you might want to consider name-brand..." - honestly they are so right! I used to use those cheapo boards and I literally threw one across the room once because it lagged during a client call. It was a mess lol. Since you are on a deadline and need something that just works, check these out:

  • Microsoft Designer Compact Keyboard Bluetooth: I absolutely love this thing! It is super sleek and the typing feel is just fantastic for heavy work. It is way more reliable than the generic stuff and fits in any bag easily.
  • Anker Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard Wireless: This is such a great budget choice if you want to save a bit of money. It is super light to toss in a bag and honestly feels much more expensive than it actually is. Personally, I would go with the Microsoft one for copywriting because the tactile feedback is amazing. It makes typing fast so much easier when you are in the zone! You have totally got this deadline under control, just get some gear that actually works with you!

  • I think you might want to consider name-brand multi-device ones.
  • Not sure, but I heard they stay connected better, just be careful with the battery life on slim models.
