I'm currently putting together a mid-range build with an RTX 4070 and a Ryzen 5 7600X, and I’m a bit stuck on choosing the right power supply. I’ve decided that 750W is the sweet spot for efficiency and a bit of future-proofing, but the sheer number of models available is honestly overwhelming. I’m specifically looking for an 80+ Gold rated unit because I want to avoid any reliability issues or fried components down the road. Noise is also a major factor for me since my PC sits right on my desk. I've been eyeing the Corsair RM750e, but I'm curious if there are better-valued alternatives. Which 750W PSU would you recommend for the best balance of reliability and quiet operation?

In my experience, I would suggest stepping up to the Corsair RM750x 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular PSU or checking out the Seasonic Focus GX-750 750W 80+ Gold Fully Modular instead of the 'e' version. Tbh, while the RM750e is a decent value pick, it uses some cheaper internal components and a louder fan to hit that lower price point. Since your rig is sitting right on your desk, you’re definitely gonna notice that fan ramping up... and trust me, it gets annoying fast. I’ve been building PCs for like 15 years now and I’ve learned the hard way that the power supply is the one part you literally never want to skimp on. Over the years, I've seen plenty of 'budget' Gold units fail right after the warranty ends, which is just a nightmare. The RM750x is basically the industry standard for a reason—it’s super quiet and has a ten-year warranty. Another killer option is the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G6 80 Plus Gold 750W Fully Modular. It’s actually made by Seasonic and it’s incredibly compact, which makes cable management way easier for a mid-range build. You’re putting together a really nice 4070 setup, so dont risk it with a mediocre PSU just to save twenty bucks. Yo, late to the party but I feel u on the PSU struggle... choosing one is actually pretty stressful cuz u dont wanna fry your 4070 lol. I tried the RM750e and honestly was kinda disappointed with the fan noise... it uses a cheaper fan that got pretty whiny for me. Since you want quiet, I think these are better: * EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G6, 80 Plus Gold 750W, Fully Modular - it's super compact and has this Eco mode that stays SILENT until you're really gaming hard. * Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 750W, 80+ Gold Certified, PCIe Gen 5.0 - this is great because it's ATX 3.0. I'm pretty sure it means you don't need those messy adapters for the 4070. Anyway, I'd probably go with the GF3 for the tech features. Good luck with the build! 👍

Respectfully, I'd consider another option. I'm very satisfied with the MSI MPG A750G PCIE5 750W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular. It's $105, stays safe, and basically silent. Worth a look tbh?
