Just found this thread while browsing - I actually spent way too much time testing this on an AM5 bench last month. Tbh, while the 9700X is pretty efficient, your leaving performance on the table if you go below 6000MT/s or buy something without a tight CAS latency. Heres my take on the best value-to-spec kits right now: - G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 is basically the go-to for technical builds because it skips the RGB tax but uses the same Hynix silicon as the expensive stuff.
- If your doing heavy content creation, definately grab TeamGroup T-Create Expert 64GB DDR5-6000 CL30. 64GB is becoming the new standard for 4K editing workflows and its way cheaper than it was a year ago.
- Check for "EXPO" on the box - dont just rely on XMP profiles since AMD's memory controller is pickier about sub-timings. In my experience, trying to push past 6000 often forces the UCLK into 1:2 mode which realy kills your latency in gaming. Staying at 6000 keeps that 1:1 ratio with the FCLK (usually 2000MHz) which is where the real performance is at.
