Does RAM capacity beyond 32GB provide any tangible benefits for a Ryzen Threadripper system used for heavy video editing? I work with 4K and 8K video files, and I'm considering 64GB or even 128GB of RAM. Will this extra capacity significantly reduce rendering times or improve overall workflow? Or is 32GB sufficient for most professional video editing tasks? What are your experiences, and what RAM capacity do you recommend for this use case?

You gotta remember those CPUs use quad-channel memory (or even octa-channel on the newer ones), so filling up more slots actually helps with the total bandwidth too. If you're tryna save cash, you dont need the flashiest RGB stuff. Look at something like Corsair Vengeance LPX 128GB (4 x 32GB) DDR4 3200MHz. It's usually a solid price-to-performance pick for older TR boards. Rendering speed wont change MUCH with more RAM—that is mostly your CPU cores—but the actual editing workflow will feel SO much smoother. 64GB is the bare minimum imo for 4K. If you go 128GB, it's nice for future-proofing but might be overkill unless you're doing heavy multi-tasking. Honestly, if you're tight on budget, get 64GB and spend the rest on a faster scratch drive like the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD. That'll probably give you a better boost for the money than just having extra RAM sitting idle.

For heavy 4K/8K video editing on a Threadripper, going beyond 32GB RAM can absolutely yield tangible benefits, especially with complex projects and multi-tasking. 64GB is a sweet spot, while 128GB offers further future-proofing and smoother handling of massive files.
