Ive been building my own rigs since the GTX 900 series days so I usually know what Im doing but man this current 1440p market is a total mess right now. Im rocking an old 3070 right now and its just falling off a cliff with these newer titles like Cyberpunk or even Wukong lately. Ive got a 165Hz monitor and Im barely hitting 70fps on medium settings which is just killing me. My logic was to just grab a 4070 Super and call it a day because of the power efficiency and DLSS 3 frame gen but then I started looking at the VRAM requirements and now Im second guessing everything. Is 12GB really gonna hold up for the next 3 years?
So I was thinking maybe the 7900 GRE is the play for the extra memory buffer but then I lose out on the ray reconstruction stuff which I actually use. Ive got about $750 to spend and I really need to get this ordered by Friday before my vacation starts so I can actually play something for once. Is the 4070 Ti Super worth the extra stretch for that 16GB? Or am I just overthinking the whole VRAM thing for 1440p high refresh? It feels like every card in this price bracket has some stupid compromise and Im stuck in analysis paralysis...
Unfortunately, 12GB isnt cutting it lately.
