Hey everyone! I am finally looking to upgrade my workstation because my current setup is really struggling with my latest projects. I have been shooting a lot of 4K 10-bit footage on my Sony A7SIII, and my old GTX 1060 just cannot keep up anymore. I am seeing a ton of lag during playback, especially when I add a few Lumetri color layers or transitions.

I have a budget of about $700 and I am torn between a few options:

  • RTX 4070 Ti Super
  • RTX 3080 used
  • A higher-end Radeon card

I really need smooth scrubbing and faster export times for my freelance work. Does anyone have recommendations on which GPU offers the best performance for the price specifically for Premiere Pro?

Grab the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB GDDR6X. It fits your budget perfectly and those dual AV1 encoders are total game changers for scrubbing through 10-bit A7SIII footage, tbh.

Stick with Nvidia for CUDA stability. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16GB GDDR6X is worth the stretch because that extra VRAM prevents those annoying out-of-memory errors on long exports.
