Best GPU for Dual Monitor Setup?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU for a dual monitor setup (both 1440p, 144Hz). My current card struggles when I'm gaming on one screen while having browsers, Discord, and streaming videos open on the second.

Budget is around $700. I mainly play games like Cyberpunk, Starfield, and some competitive FPS titles. Would also like to future-proof a bit if possible.

Not tied to either AMD or Nvidia, but would prefer good driver support. My current system has a Ryzen 5 9600X with 32GB RAM.

Any recommendations for GPUs that handle dual monitors well without performance issues? Also curious about possible VRAM requirements for this setup.

For your dual 1440p 144Hz setup with a $700 budget, the RTX 5070 or AMD RX 7900 GRE/RX 9070 are excellent choices. The RTX 4070 Super offers strong 1440p performance and superior ray tracing and DLSS 3, with 12GB GDDR6X VRAM. For future-proofing and demanding titles like Cyberpunk and Starfield, 12GB VRAM is a good minimum, but 16GB is ideal. The RX 7800 XT (16GB VRAM) is also a strong contender, offering great value for 1440p gaming. AMD's RX 9070, if within budget, offers 16GB VRAM and strong 1440p performance. Both brands offer good driver support.

Yeah, if your the type who likes to tinker with your setup, you can definitely squeeze better value out of your $700 than just going with whatever is top of the list. Honestly, you don't need a professional service to optimize your rig for dual monitors; doing the DIY tuning yourself is half the fun and saves you cash. * AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT: You can sometimes find these around the $700 mark on sale. Tbh, the 20GB VRAM is massive for keeping background videos and browsers smooth while your mid-game in Starfield. It requires a bit more power, but undervolting it yourself in Adrenalin is super easy and keeps it cool.
* Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070: The drivers are basically set-and-forget, which is nice if you dont want to mess with settings. It handles the multi-monitor switching perfectly, but I think the 12GB VRAM might bite you later on if your planning to keep it long term. Personally, I'd go the 7900 XT route and just do the manual setup myself. That extra memory headroom makes a huge difference when you've got Discord, a stream, and a heavy game all fighting for resources at 1440p.

At $700, you're looking at RTX 5070 territory, which is perfect for dual monitors. I'm running dual 1440p displays with a 5070 and it handles everything beautifully. Gaming on one screen while having Discord, browser, or streaming software on the other works flawlessly. The 12GB VRAM gives you plenty of headroom for multi-monitor setups too.
