I'm building a new rig with an Intel Core i7-13700K, and I'm struggling to decide on the perfect GPU to pair with it. I'm looking for a balance between performance and value, aiming for high-end 1440p gaming or entry-level 4K.
I'm mostly with Ale_X on this. For 1440p and entry 4K, I've been really happy with the performance scaling on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super. It matches the 13700K profile perfectly without hitting major bottlenecking at higher resolutions. One thing tho... people keep forgetting the total system power draw. A 13700K can spike hard under load, and when you pair it with a high-TGP card like the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB, you're gonna want a quality Corsair RM850x 850W PSU at the bare minimum. I've seen some guys try to run this setup on older 750W units and get random shutdowns during transient spikes. Honestly, it works well as long as your thermals are solid. Definitely measure your clearance too. These cards are basically bricks now. My TUF is like 348mm long, so make sure your case isn't too cramped or you'll just choke the airflow and thermal throttle.
The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is a good choice.

Waiting for RTX 5070 or 5070 Ti.
For 1440p or 4K, you'd better to get the RTX 4080 SUPER.
