Just saw this thread and honestly, I have to suggest some caution here. I've been pretty disappointed with the build quality on several of the entry-level 4060 Ti models lately. Unfortunately, some brands are cutting corners on the cooling blocks and fan bearings, which just isn't as good as expected for a 400 dollar investment. I've seen units showing high hotspot temperatures much sooner than they should, which is a big reliability red flag. Before I can really point you in the right direction, could you clarify what resolution you're playing at? If you're aiming for 1440p, that 8GB VRAM is a major bottleneck that might cause stuttering in newer games. Also, what's your current power supply wattage? Some of these newer cards have transient power spikes that can be risky for older or lower-tier PSUs... I'd hate for you to compromise your whole build by rushing into a purchase.
If you're set on Nvidia's 4000 series, consider waiting for the regular 4060. It offers 8GB VRAM and only 15-20% less performance than the Ti model at a significantly lower price (299vs399 MSRP). The 4060 is highly power-efficient, consuming just 115W max.
The performance gap between the 4060 and 4060Ti doesn't justify the $100 price difference. The 4060 should perform close to the 3060Ti, likely within 10%, and should remain viable for several years.
While the 4070 would be superior, the 4060 is a more sensible choice if budget is a concern. Some AIB partners offer extended warranties upon product registration, which is worth considering for long-term use.
