I'm looking to upgrade my desktop and want to know what the best deals are for 2025. Are there specific models or brands that are offering great value for money? Any recommendations for budget-friendly options or high-performance machines? Thanks in advance!

Check when price drop. Search for any gaming desktop, and start to tracker. https://www.whenpricedrop.com/

To add to the point above about those Dell refurbs, they can be a steal but you really gotta be careful with the proprietary parts. If the motherboard or power supply dies after the warranty, you're basically stuck with a paperweight because they use custom shapes and connectors. Honestly, if you want reliability, I would suggest going the DIY route instead. It might seem intimidating but its way safer for your wallet in the long run because you can actually fix things yourself. Coming back to this an hour later, I realized I should probably list some safe components to watch for:

  • Grab a Corsair RM750e 750W 80+ Gold Power Supply for a solid foundation. Dont cheap out on the PSU, its the most dangerous part to skimp on if you want the PC to last.
  • Look for a Samsung 990 PRO 1TB NVMe SSD when the price drops. Its super reliable compared to the generic drives you find in many prebuilts.
  • I would suggest the MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi Motherboard if you are going with an AMD build. Its built like a tank and very stable. Just make sure to double check your parts list for compatibility before you pull the trigger. Always happy to look over a parts list for you if you decide to build!

For high-end models, take a look at RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 gaming desktop PC deals.

Keep an eye on Dell XPS Desktop refurbs - they're clearing out late 2024 models with 13th/14th gen Intel chips. Got one for $600 with an i5-13400, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. Solid work/home PC if you catch the deals.
