I'm building a new gaming rig and need advice on AIO coolers. Budget is around $150, case is a Lian Li O11 Dynamic, and I'll be running a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with some overclocking.
Looking for good performance, reasonable noise levels, and RGB that works with ASUS Aura.
Currently considering the Arctic Liquid Freezer III, NZXT Kraken, and Corsair H150i.
Any recommendations or experiences with these? Is 240mm sufficient or should I go 360mm? Thanks!
Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
For your Ryzen 7 7800X3D build in the Lian Li O11 Dynamic, a 240mm AIO cooler should suffice for moderate overclocking, offering a good balance between cooling performance and noise levels. However, a 360mm AIO could provide additional thermal headroom, especially for more aggressive overclocking. The Arctic Liquid Freezer III, NZXT Kraken, and Corsair H150i are all reputable choices. Ensure the cooler's RGB is compatible with ASUS Aura for seamless integration.
Just installed the Lian Li Galahad II 360mm and wow, this thing is a beast. Temps dropped 15°C compared to my old tower cooler. The infinity mirror effect is gorgeous and the build quality feels premium. A bit pricey but worth it if aesthetics matter to you and you have room for a 360mm rad.
Honestly, I pretty much agree with going for a 360mm - especially since u have an O11 Dynamic. That case is basically designed around that setup and leaving empty space looks kinda off. Being someone who's seen plenty of pumps die over the years, I'm usually pretty cautious about recommending whatever is trendy. Looking at the current market, the EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 Lux D-RGB is a serious contender that hasn't been mentioned yet. It's got amazing build quality and the performance is right up there with the top tier, plus the ASUS Aura integration is seamless. If ur looking for something that balances budget and reliability, the DeepCool LS720 is another one to look at. From a market analysis perspective, DeepCool has really stepped up their game lately with their own pump designs rather than just using the standard Asetek stuff everyone else uses. Since the 7800X3D has that 3D V-Cache, it tends to have localized hot spots regardless of the cooler, so having the extra surface area of a 360mm rad lets u run ur fans at lower RPMs. To me, the lower noise floor is worth the extra $20-30 alone. Just make sure u double-check the warranty - I wouldnt touch an AIO with less than 5 years of coverage tbh.

omg i have this exact same issue... been dealing with it for like a month now and still cant decide which way to go. it's honestly so stressful trying to pick between the big names when you see mixed reviews about leaks and dead pumps everywhere. just curious tho, since you mentioned asus aura, are you trying to avoid extra software entirely? cause that's the main thing holding me back from the kraken or the corsair stuff since they usually need their own apps to function right.
Wait really?? Thats actually super helpful. I always thought it was the other way around.
