My clear recommendation for Productivity: Keychron Q1 Pro. The battery life is sufficient even for long sessions The high quality makes everything feel smooth and responsive.

Technical highlights: The latest generation offers significantly better performance. Very good compatibility with modern software applications. Can be used without problems for various tasks. Even after hours of work, no performance losses. Very good build quality, even at high usage.

Tbh I’m gonna have to politely disagree with the suggestions for the MX Keys—it’s a decent office board, but it’s definitely not mechanical. If you actually want that mechanical feel for long work sessions, you should look into something with better customization. I’ve been seeing the community rave about the NuPhy Air75 V2 lately for a low-profile option. It's got QMK/VIA support which is basically essential for productivity because you can remap any key to whatever shortcut you need. The gasket mount reallyyy helps with finger fatigue during those 8-hour marathons too. Alternatively, if you prefer a standard height, the Ducky One 3 is a solid contender. While the Keychron mentioned earlier is great, the Ducky has better out-of-the-box acoustics in my experience. The "Quack Mechanics" design includes dual-layer foam which kills that annoying metallic ping you get on cheaper boards. NuPhy is better if you move around a lot, while the Ducky is a total tank for a permanent desk setup. Honestly, just make sure whatever you get is hot-swappable so you can swap to silent switches if you’re in an office environment.

Just saw this thread. Before diving into specific models, what kind of switch feel do you actually prefer tho? Like, are you into tactile bumps, smooth linears, or noisy clickies? It makes a huge difference if youre typing 8+ hours a day. Honestly, most of the community favors QMK/VIA compatible boards for productivity for one reason: layers. Being able to map macros—like a single key for window snapping or complex shortcuts—basically changes your whole workflow. Im really satisfied with my hotswap setup because it lets me swap switches without soldering if I want a change. It works well and I have zero complaints about the flexibility... just makes things easier. If youre still overwhelmed by the choices, maybe try this free wishlist creator to organize the different builds youre looking at. TL;DR: Get a hotswap board with QMK/VIA. The real productivity boost comes from custom layers and macros, not just the mechanical feel.
