Has anyone seen any recent price drops for the LG C5 OLED TV? I’m considering purchasing one but would like to know if it’s worth waiting for a better deal. TIA.

Building on the earlier suggestion, waiting for those specific calendar dates usually feels like a total trap. Unfortunately, the initial price drops on the C5 are probably gonna be pretty weak. I had issues with my last OLED where I waited months for a Black Friday deal that never actually happened, and it was super disappointing to see the price only budge by like fifty bucks after all that hype. I eventually gave up on chasing the newest tech and just looked for a LG C4 65 inch Class OLED evo C4 instead. Honestly, the C5 is not as good as expected when you factor in the massive price jump. I did some DIY price hunting at local warehouses and found that floor models or open-box units are the only way to get a real discount these days. I managed to snag a deal that way and saved way more than any Prime Day coupon would have given me. Just dont get your hopes too high for a massive C5 discount anytime soon... LG likes to keep those prices high as long as possible.

Honestly, the waiting game for these high-end panels is just the worst. It is super draining to check the trackers every morning only to see that the LG C5 55-inch OLED TV hasnt moved a single cent. I went through the same thing with my last set and it really kills the excitement of getting a new upgrade when you feel like you are being held hostage by these rigid MSRP cycles. If you look at the technical side, LG keeps the wholesale prices locked to protect the premium status of their newer Alpha series processors. Usually, the price floor doesnt actually budge until the manufacturing yields at the production plants hit a certain efficiency threshold. Basically, they wont lower the price until it costs them significantly less to make each unit, regardless of what retail holidays are coming up. It is just so annoying when you know the tech is ready but the price tag is stuck in place because of corporate margin targets. Tbh I am starting to think the best time to buy is whenever your current screen finally dies because this constant price watching is just exhausting... I feel your pain on this one.
