I finally pulled the trigger on a new iPad Air M2 for my design classes but man finding a case is actually stressing me out lol. I need something that can actually stay upright on my lap when Im on the train commute but also has a good low angle for sketching. Right now I am stuck between the Zugu Case and that ESR Shift Magnetic one.

The Zugu looks super solid with the magnets and it seems like they make them for pretty much every model out there, but its kinda pricey and I heard it can be bulky. The ESR one looks cool because you can detach it and use it in portrait mode but idk if it actually holds up over time. I was also looking at the OtterBox Symmetry just for the protection but the stand angles look pretty limited compared to the others.

My budget is like 70 bucks maybe 80 if it is really worth it since I spent so much on the iPad itself. I am going on a trip to Chicago next Friday so I gotta order something by Monday latest so it gets here in time. I am mainly gonna be using it for Procreate and watching movies while traveling. So yeah which brand makes the best multi-angle case for these things that wont fall over constantly?

The Tomtoc Vertical Case for iPad Air M2 is an amazing choice if you want to save money! The stand design is super methodical and offers fantastic viewing and sketching angles for Procreate. I love it because its way more budget-friendly than high-end cases. Youre getting really high-quality protection for a fraction of the cost. Its definitely a fantastic value for your Chicago trip!

I learned the hard way that cheap cases fail on commutes. After my last iPad took a tumble, a Zugu Case iPad Air 11-inch M2 2024 really saved my sanity. It stays put on my lap even when the train's bumpy.

  • magnets stay steady
  • doesnt wobble while sketching
  • decent drop protection Tbh just look for warehouse deals to stay under your 70 dollar budget.

Regarding what #1 said about cheap cases, I unfortunately had issues with my ESR Shift Magnetic Case iPad Air M2.

  • Flimsy magnets
  • Slid off my lap It wasnt as good as expected tho...
