Where to find best deals on laptops?

Looking to upgrade my laptop these days. Where are you all finding the best deals these days? I've checked Amazon and Best Buy, but prices seem higher than last year.

Are there specific times (beyond Black Friday) when prices drop? Any reliable discount sites or student programs worth exploring? Budget is around $800 for something with decent specs for coding and light gaming.

I've had great luck with slickdeals.net for laptop discounts. Their deal alert system is fantastic - just set up notifications for specific brands or price ranges and you'll get alerts when something matches. Saved about $300 on my last Dell XPS this way.

Don't overlook manufacturer refurbished options! Dell Outlet, Lenovo Outlet, and Apple Certified Refurbished all offer basically new machines with full warranties at 15-30% off. I got my ThinkPad this way and couldn't tell it wasn't brand new.
