Hey everyone! I’m finally looking to upgrade my setup, but my budget is strictly capped at $1000. I mainly play titles like Cyberpunk and Valorant, so I’m really worried about finding something with decent cooling and a solid GPU. Which specific models currently offer the absolute best performance for the price?
> I’m finally looking to upgrade my setup, but my budget is strictly capped at $1000. dude, honestly i was in the same boat last month! i ended up getting the Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 Gaming Laptop with RTX 4060 and 16GB RAM for like $850 on sale. i’m super happy cuz it runs cyberpunk on high settings pretty well... no complaints about the cooling either. maybe check it out? it’s basically the best value i found. gl!
Yo! If you're looking for that absolute best performance-to-price ratio right now, definitely check out the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA507NV with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS. Honestly, it's a beast for Cyberpunk cuz the cooling is actually decent for a 'budget' build and it doesn't throttle as hard as some others. Ngl, most people just look at the GPU model, but you gotta check the TGP!! This one has a high-wattage 4060 which makes a HUGE difference for those frame rates in Valorant too. Basically, if you can find it on sale for under $1k, it's a total steal. Also, maybe look at the Acer Nitro 16 AN16-41-R7FA with RTX 4060 and Ryzen 7 7840HS if you want a slightly better screen for the money. Cyberpunk is basically a nightmare on low-wattage cards, so just make sure whatever you get isn't capped at like 45W or something lol. peace
Wait really?? Thats actually super helpful. I always thought it was the other way around.

Coming back to this, it looks like the thread is leaning towards the Lenovo and Asus options which are definitely solid picks. Honestly, getting a 4060 for under 1k is the goal for Cyberpunk. If you want to be really careful with your budget tho, my advice is to look at the HP Victus 16-s0097nr Gaming Laptop with RTX 4060. One thing to keep in mind is the DIY side of things. Sometimes you can find a base model that is cheaper because it only has 8GB of ram or a small SSD. If you buy something like a Crucial RAM 16GB Kit 2x8GB DDR5 4800MHz and swap it in yourself, you usually end up with a better machine for less money overall. It is what I always do to stay under budget. Just be super careful when popping the bottom panel off... those plastic clips can be tricky and you dont want to snap anything.
To add to the point above: I think people forget how much build quality matters when you're pushing a budget laptop to its limits. Saw this thread earlier and wanted to chime in because I've been through the ringer with laptops that looked good on paper but died right after the warranty ended. Honestly, over the years I've learned that a slightly thicker chassis usually means better longevity. In my experience, the Dell G15 5530 Gaming Laptop RTX 4060 has been a total tank. It's heavy as hell, but the cooling is way more reliable than the paper-thin ones I've owned that ended up throttling. I once had a budget rig that actually warped its own plastic casing from the heat while playing Cyberpunk... never again. Quick tips:
