I finally saved up 3000 dollars for a really nice pc build to match my 4k monitor but honestly I have no idea where to start with all these weird part names. everything is kinda confusing for a first timer. sorry if this is basic but what amd cpu is actually the best one for high end gaming?

Unfortunately, most people overspend on top-tier chips that arent even good for gaming. I had issues with the 7950X3D being inconsistent and not as good as expected for the high price. Just get the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core 5.0GHz Processor:
- Best gaming performance hands down
- Much cheaper than the Ryzen 9
- Use the extra cash on your graphics card

Quick reply while I have a sec. In my experience, sticking to what works is better than chasing high core counts you wont even use. Like someone mentioned, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core 5.0GHz Processor is the safest bet. Its efficient and wont overheat easily, which is huge for a first-timer. Ive seen plenty of people struggle with complex chips, so keeping it simple is definitely the way to go.

coming back to this after an hour or so, but with a 3k budget you have a few ways to go. at 4k your gpu is the real bottleneck.
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core 5.0GHz is the top choice. insane gaming speed but only 8 cores.
- AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16-Core 5.7GHz gives you more cores for multitasking, tho it's expensive and sometimes weird with games. id just go with the 7800x3d.
