Buying a 4090 for my UK build next month and Im so hyped! I read the 7800X3D is fastest but then people say the 7950X3D is better for high-end builds because of the cores... my logic was more cores means better performance but does that even matter for 4K gaming?
Honestly, just grab the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core 16-Thread 5.0GHz. In my experience, more cores doesnt mean more FPS at 4K since youre mostly GPU bound anyway. Ive tried many builds over the years and spending extra on the 7950X3D is basically throwing money away if youre just gaming tho. Save that extra cash for a better monitor, you wont regret it!
Just seeing this now. I remember my first big build, I went way overboard on cores and it basically did nothing for my frame rates at 4K. Everything felt the same. Now I just use an AMD processor with that 3D cache tech. Its way more efficient. Just grab an AMD X3D model and youll be totally set for years, honestly.
