I am in the exact same boat and honestly it is so frustrating! I have been obsessing over this for weeks because I am terrified of spending $300 on a piece of junk that stops working after a month. I love that you are asking about reliability because that is literally my biggest concern too!! I have been doing a deep dive brand comparison between the Elgato Facecam Pro and the Logitech Brio. The Elgato is absolutely fantastic if you want a fixed lens that actually looks like a real camera, and their software is amazing for people like me who want a stable connection. Logitech is the safe, boring choice we all know, but Elgato feels much more premium and reliable for long-term use. I am leaning so hard toward Elgato because I am just sick of buggy firmware! Definitely look into a handy holiday tool for your desk setup while you are at it. TL;DR: Stick to Elgato Facecam Pro for the best image safety or Logitech Brio if you want the most basic, tested option. Avoid those motorized AI cameras like the plague if you want something that lasts!
