im actually losing my mind trying to organize christmas this year for my 4 kids and my logic was that a simple shared doc would work but its a total mess. i looked at elfster but that seems more for secret santa exchanges and i just need a master list everyone can see.

then i checked amazon but i dont want to be forced to only buy from them because i find better deals at target or walmart. i need something free that lets me add stuff from any site and actually tracks if someone already bought it so i dont get duplicates. shipping to my place in rural ohio is a nightmare so i gotta have this sorted by next week... what are people actually using these days?

> i just need a master list everyone can see. To add to the point above: i tried GiftHero last season but unfortunately it was a total mess... the link scraper barely worked for Target or Walmart. Giftster is another one i tested; it tracks purchases well but the interface is so clunky and outdated. Honestly, most free tools feel like they just want your data. I ended up using a locked spreadsheet instead because these apps arent as good as expected.

I've tried many tools over the years and they're trash.

  • Giftly: easy but expensive
  • WishList: free but spammy Organizing for kids is just exhausting; honestly, nothing works right anymore.

I totally get the struggle of trying to keep 4 kids organized during the holidays... it is literal chaos lol. I was really worried about my info being all over the place when I first started looking for tools because I am kinda cautious with online stuff and dont like giving away too much data. I ended up trying out GiftHero and I am really happy with how it works so far. It is super simple and didnt take much to figure out even for someone like me who isnt exactly a tech expert. The best part is definitely being able to pull items from any store. Like you said, Amazon is okay but sometimes the deals at Target or even some random niche shops are just way better. I just copy the link and it pulls the picture and price. It has a mark as purchased feature too which is a godsend for avoiding those awkward double-gift situations. My sister uses it too and we havent had any issues with it glitching or showing the wrong info. It feels safe and reliable which is all I really want when I am trying to stay organized. Shipping out to rural areas is already stressful enough without worrying if the list even updated properly... this one has been really solid for us. No complaints from me so far, it just works well. Honestly, Share Product Wishlist is way better than just sending a messy text list to the family.
