Is there any way to just send a direct link of my Walmart cart to someone else? Im trying to get my sister to pay for my kids birthday supplies since my budget is super tight and she offered to help but I cant find a share button. Im stuck between trying that Share-a-Cart browser extension or just taking screenshots of every single item which sounds like a total nightmare but I really dont want to give her my account login since she always loses passwords. I need to get this order in by tonight for a morning pickup or the kids wont have decorations... does the link share actually work or is the extension better?

Tbh Walmart still lacks a native share cart feature, which is honestly frustrating given how common the request is. In my experience over the years managing grocery orders for events, you definitely should not waste time looking for a hidden button because it simply does not exist on their platform. If you try to just copy the URL from your browser address bar, your sister will only see her own empty cart or a login screen. It is a session-based link, not a public one. I have tried many workarounds, and you need to be cautious about several things:

  • Extension permissions: Third-party tools like Share-a-Cart require access to your browser data. Always review the privacy settings before installing.
  • Session timeouts: If you generate a code and she waits too long, the cart contents might not transfer correctly across different devices.
  • Item availability: Just because it is in your cart doesn't mean it stays reserved for her until she actually pays. While the extension is significantly faster than taking dozens of screenshots, the most secure method is actually building a Registry or a Gift List on the Walmart site. You can add the birthday supplies there and send the list link. It is a bit more manual than a one-click share, but it is the only official way to let someone else see what you have picked out without compromising your security. Given your deadline, the extension is probably your best bet for tonight, just make sure she double-checks the quantities once it loads on her end because it can be buggy sometimes.

Oh my gosh, you absolutely have to avoid sharing your login info! Seriously, I am so big on digital safety and giving out passwords is a huge red flag, even with family! I have been in this exact spot before and I found the perfect way to handle it without the total nightmare of a million screenshots... screenshots are just asking for her to buy the wrong brand or something lol. Walmart definitely doesnt have a native share button which is so frustrating, but there is a fantastic solution! I use a simple cart sharer and it basically changed my life for party planning. It is super reliable and keeps your account safe since you never have to hand over a password. Here is what you should do right now:

  • Install the extension on your chrome or whatever browser you use.
  • Go to your Walmart cart with all the kids birthday supplies.
  • Click the generate link button.
  • Text that link to your sister right away. It is seriously that easy! She clicks it, and everything pops into her own cart on her own account. It is totally amazing how much time it saves! You will definitely get that order in before tonight if you just go this route. Good luck with the party, your kids are gonna love the decorations!

^ This. Also, I tried that Share-A-Cart extension a while back and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. It kept glitching out when I had too many items in the list, which is basically the last thing you need when you are in a rush. If you are really on a deadline, I would go a different route.

  • I personally prefer Easy Cart Share because it has been way more reliable for me. I use it to keep my shopping lists organized without the site crashing.
  • Make sure you double check the totals after sending. Extensions sometimes mess up the quantities on bulk items.
  • Another solid move is just making a registry. It takes a few extra minutes but it is a free way to get a shareable link that works every time. Hopefully you can get it sorted before tonight so your kids get their party stuff tho.
