honestly i am so done with apple charging a fortune for these pencils when the tip breaks or i just lose the thing for the third time this year... im literally shaking thinking about spending another 120 bucks right before my finals at uic start next week. i need to take notes but my budget is basically nonexistent now like maybe 30 or 40 dollars max if im lucky. i just need something reliable that wont lag all the time because i cant afford to fail my chem class. which stylus is the best alternative to apple pencil for any ipad that actually works well?

In my experience, you dont need to drop $100+ just for notes. Over the years, I've tried many cheap pens and the ESR Digital Stylus for iPad with Palm Rejection is my top pick. It works great for chem finals.

  • No lag when scribbling fast
  • Proper palm rejection
  • USB-C charging is super quick Honestly, i cant even tell it apart from the Apple version most of the time.

Regarding what #2 said about "Quick reply while I have a sec. Unfortunately,..." - it makes sense to worry about lag but honestly the tech in these budget pens has gotten insane recently! You definitely dont need to spend $120. I highly recommend the Jamjake Stylus Pen for iPad with Palm Rejection. It uses an active chipset that mimics the official signal frequency perfectly, so you get a 1.5mm fiber-polymer tip with zero offset. I love that it charges via USB-C and gives you 20 hours of active use... perfect for those long chem cram sessions! Seriously, the palm rejection is legit and it costs way less than a textbook. It is such a fantastic value for the money. TL;DR: Grab the Jamjake Stylus Pen for iPad with Palm Rejection. Zero lag, tilt support, and fits your $30 budget perfectly.

Quick reply while I have a sec. Unfortunately, most budget styluses are pretty hit or miss. Ive had issues with many cheap ones lagging during fast note-taking sessions, which is super frustrating. The Adonit Neo Magnetic Stylus with Palm Rejection is more reliable tho. It lacks pressure sensitivity, which is disappointing, but the nib quality is decent. It wont drop the connection like those $15 generic brands that always cut out mid-sentence.
