I just got my new iPad for school and I have a huge project starting Monday so I really need to get this sorted like yesterday. I'm so stressed about scratching the screen because I spent literally all my savings on this thing and I definitely can't afford a repair if I mess it up.

I looked at the Paperlike ones because everyone on YouTube says they are the gold standard for drawing but then I saw a bunch of reddit threads saying they wear down your apple pencil tips super fast and make the screen look all grainy and dull. Then I looked at just a standard tempered glass one from Spigen but I'm worried about the glare when I'm in my lectures because the lighting there is honestly terrible and I've heard the glass is too slippery for taking fast notes. I'm also confused because some people say the glass ones make the lines wonky when you draw slow and I really need precision for my art. I'm in London so I can get stuff delivered fast from Amazon but I just don't want to waste 30 quid on something that's gonna ruin the experience or the screen quality.

What is actually the best screen protector that works for any iPad model and actually feels good to use?

Congrats on the new iPad! Honestly, its the best feeling ever but I totally get the stress about scratching that gorgeous screen. If you're doing art and notes in London lectures, you basically need the best of both worlds. Skip the permanent matte films that ruin the display quality. You gotta go with a magnetic one! I've been using iPads for years and the absolute game changer is the <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ESR+Magnetic+Screen+Protector+for+ iPad+Pro+11+inch+and+iPad+Air&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ESR Magnetic Screen Protector for iPad Pro 11 inch and iPad Air. It is literally fantastic because it just snaps onto the edges with magnets when you need to work. They make them for basically every model now. Heres why its better than the permanent ones:

  • You can rip it off in two seconds when you want to watch Netflix in full 4K glory without that grainy matte look.
  • It gives you that amazing paper-like friction for your pencil so your handwriting doesn't look like a mess during fast lectures.
  • It protects your actual screen from the pencil tip but you can still put a Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Tempered Glass Screen Protector underneath it for double protection.
  • It doesnt wear down your nibs as fast as the cheap sandpaper-feeling brands. I use mine every single day for my design projects and it's been a lifesaver. Since youre in London, Amazon will have it at your door by tomorrow morning! Just make sure you get the right size for your specific model and you'll be golden. It's way better than wasting money on stuff that makes the screen look dull 24/7. You're gonna love it!

Honestly, I've been down this rabbit hole so many times it's not even funny. I used to carry around different <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= iPads+just+to+test+films&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPads just to test films. If you want the real deal for school, go for etched matte glass. I bought the <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Mothca+Matte+Glass+Screen+Protector+ iPad+Pro+11&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Mothca Matte Glass Screen Protector iPad Pro 11 a while back and it changed everything. Unlike those plastic films that feel like sandpaper, this is actual glass that's been acid-etched. It gives you just enough friction so your pencil doesnt fly everywhere during fast notes, but the screen still looks sharp. Plus, it's way more durable than those thin sheets. I found it stopped that weird wobble you get when drawing slow lines on regular glass because the tip has something to grab onto. It’s usually around 15 to 20 quid on Amazon UK. TL;DR: Matte tempered glass is the sweet spot between protection and texture without ruining the screen quality like film does.
